How to Host a Progressive Dinner Party
Send an invitation to your neighbors and or friends to gather in a parade of homes Progressive Dinner Party.
Once you know the guests participating assign each person/home a part of the menu. I like to keep the dessert for last in my home. So, I assign the appetizer to the farthest house from mine; ask them to make a small finger food/appetizer and drink. We all show up at their house, chat and tour their home. Depending on how many houses are involved spend about 20 minutes at each home. Move on to the next home for soup, then salad, entrée, and finally dessert. Use your imagination if you have more homes to tour. This is a great way to spend the evening with your friends and neighbors during the holiday season.
I also like to do a drawing and at each home. You can draw for a family to receive a gift from the host. A small home décor or seasonal gift. You may want to remind your hosts to prepare recipe cards for everyone to take home, they will be asking!
