Cheddar and Beer Fondue

This is a great fondue recipe for beginners. You just might be hooked on fondue after this dish!

    Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard
  • 3/4 Cup Beer (recommend medium or dark ale)
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Garlic
  • dash Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)
    Directions

  1. In bowl, combine cheese, flour, mustard and ground cayenne; mix well.
  2. In fondue pot, combine beer, Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Set temperature on fondue pot at 375 degrees and heat until bubbling.
  3. Gradually add cheese mixture and stir constantly until smooth; about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low.

Notes
Serve with a variety of dippers. For example, granny smith apples, sour dough bread, pretzels, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and squash.
