Cheese Puffs
Tasty appetizers that are a true crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 8oz. package Chive Cream Cheese
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
- 2 sheets Puff Pasty (found in grocer’s freezer)
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 2 slices Bacon, crisp, crumbled
- Milk
- dash Black Pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Filling: Combine cream cheese, egg, lemon and pepper. Beat with mixer on medium until smooth. Stir in bacon and cheddar.
- Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll one pastry sheet into 12-inch square. Cut into sixteen 3-inch squares. Fill each square with 1 tsp of filling. Brush edges of square with milk. Fold each square in half diagonally. Seal edges with tines of fork. Repeat with second pastry sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes.
Notes
Prepare in advance up to 4 hours. Follow directions above. Instead of baking immediately, just cover and chill until party time. Then, remove plastic wrap, bake and serve.
