Cheese Puffs

Tasty appetizers that are a true crowd pleaser.

    Ingredients

  • 1 8oz. package Chive Cream Cheese
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 2 sheets Puff Pasty (found in grocer’s freezer)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 slices Bacon, crisp, crumbled
  • Milk
  • dash Black Pepper
    Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Filling: Combine cream cheese, egg, lemon and pepper. Beat with mixer on medium until smooth. Stir in bacon and cheddar.
  3. Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll one pastry sheet into 12-inch square. Cut into sixteen 3-inch squares. Fill each square with 1 tsp of filling. Brush edges of square with milk. Fold each square in half diagonally. Seal edges with tines of fork. Repeat with second pastry sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes.

Notes
Prepare in advance up to 4 hours. Follow directions above. Instead of baking immediately, just cover and chill until party time. Then, remove plastic wrap, bake and serve.
