Margie’s Chicken in a Crockpot
My mom’s chicken in a crockpot recipe made me famous — cooking “real food” can do that in college.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 can Chicken Broth
- Flour or Cornstarch for thickening
Directions
- In the morning, place a thawed chicken in a crockpot on low heat (or frozen chicken on high heat). Cover and cook for 6-8 hours. Don’t peak!
- When chicken falls off bone, remove from pot with a slotted spoon. Remove bones and gristle.
- Cut or shred chicken.
- Transfer liquids from crockpot to a large saucepan. Add soup and chicken broth.
- Thicken using flour or cornstarch. Add chicken.
- Serve over cooked rice.
