Meaty Baked Ziti
Bake this to please a crowd, even the kids will eat it up.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Ziti
- 1 lb. Italian Sausage
- 1 small package Pepperoni slices
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 3-4 Garlic cloves, pressed
- 3 jars Spaghetti sauce(approx. 42 oz.)
- 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 15oz. containers Ricotta Cheese
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp. Pepper
- 2 Cups(8oz) shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 Cup grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 375 at a high altitude.
- Cook ziti as on package, drain and set aside.
- In a skillet cook sausage, onion, and garlic until sausage is browned. Remove from heat and drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and tomatoes and set aside.
- Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Place cooked pasta in a huge baking dish. Add 4 cups of the sauce mixture and mix. Spoon the ricotta mixture over the ziti and spread. Cover the ricotta mix with a layer of pepperoni.
- Top with remaining sauce. Bake 45 minutes.
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and bake for 15 more minutes until cheeses are melted.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
You can add red or green bell peppers to this and it tastes great. Serve with garlic bread.
You could also buy the meaty spaghetti sauce if you really wanted to make it meaty! I usually buy the stuff that’s full of veggies.
