The BEST cookies I have ever made…want to know why?
I checked the expiration dates on my baking ingredients! But before I could bake my cookies I had to go shopping. Over half of my baking ingredients were expired. The most surprising one was that baking soda only lasts three months. No wonder my cookies have not been turning out for the past five years, I was baking with baking powder and soda that expired five years ago. When you only need a teaspoon here and a teaspoon there and don’t bake but once a month from scratch as your ingredients last a long time. Longer than you need them to last! So, I cleaned out my baking ingredients cabinet and went shopping.
Next time you fuss about the right kind of butter, cookie sheet, temperature or high altitude issues you have, check your expiration dates on your ingredients before baking!
