Back to School Lunches

It’s the hottest topic next to trying to agree (parent and child) on what is appropriate to wear for the first day of school. The dreaded question is popping up in kitchen’s around the country and overloading the phone lines between girlfriends and sisters, too. What do we pack for a school lunch? Well, I’ve brainstormed with my girlfriends and we’ve come up with some suggestions and I’d love to hear yours too. Together, we can conquer school lunches in a fun and healthy way…now, I’ll have more time to argue with my “fashion-forward-five-year-old” about her daily outfit choices.

Sandwich alternatives: Pita pockets, tortilla wraps, or cracker stackers (choice of cracker and toppings)

Pack 2 or more items below instead of a sandwich:

  • Hummus and veggies
  • Sliced apples and yogurt
  • Cut veggies and ranch dressing
  • Celery/Apples and peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • Granola or Breakfast bars, like our Chewy Fruit Bars (link to recipe)

  1. I love these suggestions because I can’t send anything w/ Peanut Butter w/ my kids because other’s have allergies.

This is giving me quite a few options. Thanks!
