Sour Cream Coffee Cake

    Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
    Directions

  1. Cream Butter and Sugar.
  2. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.
  4. Pour into greased tube pan (pound cake pan or angelfood cake pan).
  5. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  6. Cool, remove from pan.

Serves 6-8

  1. This is really good by itself. I considered how good it would taste with a cinnamon and sugar crumble topping though or a cinnamon swirl in the cake mixing. Any suggestions on how to make that addition for the times I want to spice it up?

  2. Ohhhhh, maybe try topping with peaches, whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon!

  3. Here’s a simple topping that can be added to pies, cakes, streusels, etc. Adding cinnamon would be a nice touch!
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1/4 cup butter, diced
